Whether you are a Cozumel regular or new to the area, this trip is going to be both educational and enjoyable.

Itenerary

This is a tentative itenerary, and could change based on weather and other factors.

Chankanaab Marine Park

Thursday, January 23

  • Arrive, settle in, meet and greet with dinner and trip logistics/overview briefing at 7:00 pm

Friday, January 24

  • Morning: 2 tank work-up dives in the southern area of the island focus on team-building

  • Afternoon:  Class on Coral Reef Restoration at Oceanus. 1 tank practical dive

Saturday, January 25​

  • Morning:  2 tank dives Coral Reef Restoration Project at Chankanaab Marine Park

  • Possible night dive

Sunday, January 26​

  • Morning:  2 tank work-up dives in the northern area of the island focus on team building and familiarization with conditions at north end of island

  • Afternoon:  Class on Spotted Eagle Ray with Cozumel Ocean Research (COR)

Monday, January 27​

  • Morning:  COR Spotted Eagle Ray monitoring and research 2 tank dives

Accommodations

Our group will be staying at the Landmark Resort. This is an elegantly appointed, beautifully furnished resort condominium complex. The rooms and common areas are spacious and comfortable. It is located in the hotel zone, directly in front of The Money Bar restaurant and the Dzul Ha reef. The coral reef project nursery is located next to the Money Bar pier at the area known as Xela.

Amenities include pool & jacuzzi, fitness center, gated entry, elevator & luggage carts, fully equipped kitchens, and balcony with stunning ocean views.

Our group will have access to 4 jeeps (one per condo), which are included in the price of the trip!

You will share a condo with other group members. You will be assigned to a room based on the group needs. There are a total of 7 king beds, 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds.

Our group will enjoy a private dive charter boat with a dedicated, experienced Divemaster for the duration of our trip. We will have assistance on the boat, but every diver will be responsible for their pre-dive gear checks. As a team, we will also be helping each other with donning/doffing, boat entry/exit, etc. Bring your communication skills.

 

We will rinse our gear at the end of each day, and it will be ready for us the following morning.

The dive shop will have gear if you need to rent or replace any parts of your system.

Food & Beverages

Your meals are included. Our group will generally eat together. We will have a private chef at our disposal. Breakfasts will be served buffet style by the pool area. Lunches will be picnic style and served on the boat or at a surface interval location. Dinners will be our main meal of the day and will include steak, seafood, cultural cuisine. Two of our five nights, we will eat at local restaurants, which is included in the price of the trip. (Alcoholic beverages are not included.)​

Trip Cost

$2,500 per person includes:

  • 5 night stay at luxury resort in semi-private condo

  • Jeep (one per condo for a total of 4 vehicles)
